Without the generous support of the City of Columbus, its many departments and staff, and the Columbus Visitors Center, the Mill Race Race would not be as large or dynamic an event as it is today. The Columbus Running Club, the race committee, and the all the participants over the years acknowledge and thank the many, many people who have been a part of our success.
About Columbus

Located just 45 miles south of Indianapolis, Columbus is ranked #6 in the U.S. for architecture. The city displays public art by renowned artists and features nationally recognized gardens and landscaping, including an amazing park system.
What can you do while in Columbus? Come to Columbus for the race then stay to enjoy our world-class gold course, outstanding athletic facilities, family entertainment, and eclectic shopping.
While in Columbus for the race:
- wander through a Farmer’s Market between 9am and Noon on Saturday. Find treasures galore as well as arts, crafts, food and cooking demonstrations. Located in the Irwin Union Bank parking lot off Washington Street (between Sixth and Seventh Streets)
- spend Friday afternoon and evening in the park to enjoy t
he Iron Pour hosted by the Columbus Area Arts Council
- enjoy the miles of pedestrian & biking trails throughout the city
- wander through the Irwin Family gardens, open to the public on weekends
find out why Columbus is ranked among the best historic destinations in the world! Take the architectural tour to discover why National Geographic Traveler calls our city a "Jewel in the Region."
- stroll through the Sustianbale Living Fair in Mill Race Park (adjacent to the Mill Race Race finish line) between 9am and 4pm to learn about going green, new technologies, and simple tips to make your dollars stretch while being earth friendly.
- visit Nashville in neighboring Brown County to visit the many artisans and craft shops
- enjoy Hope Heritage Days after the race where small town America is celebrated
- enjoy the many pieces of public art throughout the city
