Race Policies
Entry fees are non-refundable, and entries are non-transferable to another person or event. That means once we receive and accept your entry you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not sell or give your entry to another participant.

Team entries sent by mail:
The envelope MUST contain a completed entry form for each team member and ONE check for the ENTIRE amount. If not, entire entry(s) form/fee(S) WILL BE RETURNED and you WILL NOT be entered in the event.

Wheelchair racers must wear helmets at all times and stoy to the right side of the road. Hand crank chairs are not eligible for entry.

In consideration of the safety of your fellow participants, bicycles, inline skates, skateboards, skate-shoes, headphones, earphones, or animals on leashes are NOT ALLOWED on either the 15K nor 5K course. This will be strictly enforced.

Baby Joggers and strollers will be permitted in the 5K Walk events only. Those with baby joggers or strollers are asked to line up at the back of the pack for the start of the race. Thank you for your cooperation.

Walking at an Event
Walking events raise questions about form or technique to walk. The most frequent is "in a race, how is walking defined?" When running or jogging - even at a slow pace - there is brief period when both feet are off the ground, commonly referred to as the flight phase. In contrast, and purposes of Mill Race Race events, walking is defined as "one foot is always in contact with the ground." You may have heard of race walking or power walking. These are two techniques to walk at a faster pace than an everday pace. Just one of the "rules" for these forms of walking is having one foot in contact with the ground at all times. There are several others that define the strides and movement of the body, giving those who use these techniques a distinctive and easily spotted gait.

When considering whether to enter an event as a runner or a walker here is a good rule of thumb to consider - runners can slow down and walk during a race, but walkers may not begin to run or jog, event for a short distance. Running or jogging in a walk event is grounds for disqualification.

Racewalkers - you are welcome to enter our events. Note: the courses are not judged and there is no distinct racewalk division.

Fluid Stations
Water and POWERade will be available at every fluid station on the race course as well as at the finish. Portable toilets will be available near the start line. Complimentary food and drink will be available to all race participants at the end of the race. Look for the towels at the finish line and at the Mexian Corn booth again this year!
