Our events are competitive races, but not monitored by judges. Runners and walkers are on the honor system. However, if a race official witnesses a violation or volunteers report a racer violation, you will be disqualified. Walkers—be aware: runners are allowed to slow to a walk without disqualification. Walkers are not allowed to run or jog any portion of their course. If your usual habit is to complete your goal distance with a combination of running, jogging, and walking…it is recommended you enter the running events.

Note: racewalkers and powerwalkers are welcome to enter our walking events.

5K Walk award ceremony will begin at approximately 9:30am. The 5K/15K Run award ceremony will begin at approximately 10:15am

Awards/Age Divisions
Awards will be given in the following:

  • Overall three males/females in the 15K Run, 15K Wheelchair, 5K Run and 5K Walk
  • Overall three males/females age division finishers in the 15K Run, 5K Run and 5K Walk
  • Overall three fastest teams in run and walk divisions and top age/gender handicapped teams in each division will be determined by compiling the times of the fastest three finishers from each team.
  • Overall finishers will receive a custom 2008 Mill Race Race medal as well as a prize package. Age division recognition will be a place ribbon.

Age divisions are in increments of five years up to age 75+. Divisions are: 9-12, 13-15, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.

We will post unofficial results at the finish line. Final results will be posted on our web page within 72 hours after the race.

Everyone registered for events will be eligible for the door prize drawings. Door prizes are donated by community merchants.

If an individual course record is broken, Hotel indigo will present the new record holder with a certificate for two free nights stay, good anytime through September 2009.

Timing
Mattoon Beach Multisport will provide the official scoring for the race. We now have ChampionChip timing for all events!
